Join in this fun seated workout, which includes a wide range of low impact dance routines that will leave you feeling energised without getting up off your chair.

Engaging in this class will inspire your confidence + happiness through dance. If you are looking for a new activity to get you out of the house and encourage you to be more social and make new friends definitely come and join us.

This session is being delivered as part of the Over 50's Health Initiative and is open to new participants who are members or non-members of MAEcare - New participants are welcome to come along and try their first session for FREE. The session fee is £5.50 for non-members and £4.50 for members.

The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow dance routines that can be done to suit your own personal ability - No judgement. If you have health conditions or mobility issues the great thing is that you can still engage in this class and it will most likely be beneficial for you to do so.

The additional benefits of attending this chair dance class if you have any health conditions are:

  • Reduced stress, depression and anxiety.
  • Enhanced quality of life.

This isn't your average dance class, we dance, we laugh, we have fun!! Within all SS Dance & Wellbeing classes I like to provide a safe, comfortable enviroment where participants feel the freedom to express themselves. 

Dance practitioner Sophie, who leads this class has been trained in OTAGO, which is a series of exercises that improve strength and balance in older adults. These exercises are incororated into the dance routines to enable prolonged lives of older adults and to help them to maintain a good quality of life. Join this dance class every Thursday afternoon - shake your hips Zumba style, Jazz dance like Gene Kelly, D.I.S.C.O to 70's classics and get your body moving and grooving to a mixture of music from 1950s upto now!!
